What your hurricane deductible costs, in dollars

The percentage is designed to feel small. Put your dwelling limit in and look at the actual number you would pay before the policy pays anything.

This is an estimate, not a quote and not legal advice. It cannot see your policy, your carrier's filed rates or your property. Use it to walk into the conversation informed, then let a licensed agent run the real numbers.Everything you type stays in this page. There is no server call, no account and no email gate, and nothing here is sent to us or to anyone else.

The right deductible is the largest one you could pay tomorrow without borrowing. Not one dollar more.

The hurricane deductible applies once per calendar year, from the moment a hurricane watch or warning is issued until 72 hours after the last one ends. A second hurricane in the same year falls under your all other perils deductible.

How this is calculated

Percentages are applied to Coverage A, which is how Florida personal residential policies express the hurricane deductible. The menu shown is the one Florida requires insurers to offer, though the flat option is not available on every home.

What this cannot know

It does not know your carrier's premium difference between the options, which is the other half of the decision. Ask us for the premium at each deductible and put the two halves together.
